Panel Graphic was approached by Bentley Motors in 2013 to help design, develop and then produce illuminated tread plates for their entire vehicle range, which as you would expect, needed to be of the very finest Quality to sit within it’s already impressive list of optional extras. The brief was to utilise the car’s existing stainless steel tread plates and create a fully customizable, floating illuminated lens that would allow for bespoke text and logos, multiple backing plate designs and multiple lighting colour options.
The complete assembly needed to pass all stringent automotive environmental testing, including the Bentley monsoon water tests – it passed with flying colours and continues to do so.
Bentley Mulliner (the design arm of Bentley Motors) used the illuminated tread plates to add impact within a number of Limited Edition vehicles, including the Princess and the Hallmark.
